Also to note here is that Spirit doesn’t work out of the browser as previously thought, and neither can it unlock any iDevice. It is a jailbreaking only tool like blackra1n which can jailbreak the stock iPhone 3.1.3, iPad 3.2 on almost all the iDevices – MC/non-MC, new bootrom/old bootrom on iPhone 2G/3G/3GS, iPod touch 1G/2G/3G and iPad/iPad 3G.

New iPhone ‘ready to go on sale’ as early as July 17, 2010. Now, you call that another rumor that would soon bite the dust or the tight-lipped policy of Apple Inc. to leak, yet step back from spilling the beans altogether. The seeds of this rumor might be linked to the fact that Apple Inc. might like to follow its tradition of releasing a new iPhone version mid-summer every year.

The tongues went wagging and the news spread like wildfire, when rumors spilled from a post in AppleiPhoneApps.com revealing a possible third generation iPhone release. The post even cited a possible date - July 17, 2010, quoting ‘inside sources’ from Apple development team. The website has also quoted that the present price tags of $199 and $299 will remain.

New iPhone Specifications - What to expect

There are also reports of a few changes in the external look of the new iPhone. Apart from reports of the metal band around the edge of the device ‘gone missing’, the new device is believed to have a comparatively sleeker design with a rubber-tread backing.

Moreover, the rear of the phone will also sport a glowing Apple logo.

The new iPhone is stated to offer 32GB storage capacity.

To upgrade your iPhone 2G to the new firmware, use Pwange Tool 2.0 on an iMac are asked to DFU mode and iTunes update with the custom firmware you created with Pwnage.

Once you update the firmware of the phone to the 1.1.4 version we downloaded ZiPhone, and proceeded to his release. Finally on that Mac always had problems, we made the 2.0 update again this time with success.

NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- The prospect of a Verizon iPhone has sparked more speculation, more analysis and a big new high for Apple's stock.
Apple is once again reported to be preparing production of a CDMA iPhone that would be compatible with the networks of Verizon and Sprint, according to a report Monday by The Wall Street Journal.
The report revives rumors of a Verizon iPhone, and by Tuesday analysts weighed in with their own take on the potential development.
Few analysts, however, see the iPhone landing at Verizon this year.

"A launch of a CDMA-based phone with Verizon this year is unlikely," UBS analyst Maynard Um wrote in a research note Tuesday, adding that he believes "a CDMA phone could be launched with other operators later in the year." Those other telcos include China Telecom and Japan's KDDI.
The rumors stir up a long-running debate over when and if Apple and Verizon will ever come to terms over the iPhone.
Apple, maker of the hottest smartphone, and Verizon, the operator of the largest U.S. network, seem to be destined for an agreement once Apple's exclusive with AT&T expires, but progress has been uncertain.
"Apple can't ignore the largest customer in its largest market," says Michael Cote, of the Cote Collaborative. "They have 90 million customers that Apple doesn't have access to. The only way for Apple to grow in the U.S. is to access those subscribers," says Cote.
But Cote says if there is a Verizon iPhone, the timing is not likely known even by Apple and Verizon yet.
For Verizon, the iPhone represents a swarm of new, big spending subscribers, but it also means Verizon is largely cut out of the revenue equation as its users become Apple customers, who will spend money at iTunes and the App Store. This conflicts with Verizon's mobile-commerce ambitions.
There are also network infrastructure issues that need to be addressed. The iPhone puts heavy demands on the wireless system, as unhappy AT&T iPhone customers have long known. Verizon would like to avoid that, and Apple could help if it developed its own supplemental network.
Similar to what Research In Motion has done with its BlackBerry servers and email delivery system, Apple could provide a data center to reduce the burden on Verizon's network resources, says Cote. This could allow a so-called push system that sends iPhone subscribers updates and emails as they come in instead of requiring the phone to continually check in with the network for new info.
Beyond network management, Verizon and Apple have not seen eye-to-eye in the past and the differences are still unresolved.

RBC analyst Mike Abramsky says there's a lot of work yet to be done before Verizon and Apple come together. "The two parties may still need to resolve contentious issues such as subsidies, branding, revenue share, data plans, etc.," Abramsky writes. "And Verizon just launched its own App store last week, which it may require some or all smartphones to offer," Abramsky added.
Apple shares hit an all-time high of $237.48 early Tuesday, but has since settled down slightly to $236.19 or up 2% by mid morning.

The news broke out in the iPhone world on Monday that Apple was going to start selling contract-free iPhone at list price in its stores and on its Websites, many thought that iPhones would be sold unlocked. However, it was not the case; list price was referred to here as the price without subsidization from AT&T.

On further analysis, it was found that while the iPhone 3G 8GB model sells for a list price of $499, the iPhone 3GS 16GB and 32GB models sell for $599 and $699 respectively; and now the iPhones are being sold at list price to customers sans an AT&T contract. The offer however, hasn’t yet reached the online store; therefore you will have to visit your local Apple Store to clinch the deal.

New policy changes for iPhone - Will this propel iphone unlocking?

In the latest internal memo, Apple revealed the details of the new policy change which mentions that customers may now buy ‘one’ iPhone at full price, without an AT&T contract, per day (you can purchase up to five contracted iPhones). Apart from that, customers can purchase up to ten full-price iPhones per lifetime.

This policy of course, doesn’t mean much for the average customer, unless you were contemplating iPhone unlocking. iPhone 3G and iPhone 3G S both refusing to stay on WiFi and failing to automatically reconnect after waking from sleep ever since the upgrade to iPhone 3.0. Strangely enough, my original iPhone doesn’t seem to have the problem.
Apparently I’m not alone, as Google recommends in Safari. So here’s how to fix the problem:

This will wipe all your WiFi settings out and restart the phone. When it starts up again, you’ll have to reenter passwords for the WiFi networks you use. Ever since the reset, my phone seems to join my network normally.

Apple in February released firmware 3.1.3, which offered no new features but which did close the method through which the previous unlock was injected. Our next software unlock won’t be coming out until version 4.0. The reason? If we ’showed our hand’ to Apple and revealed to them the exploit we will be using then they will simply close it. So an unlock at version 3.1.3 means a long wait for an unlock at version 4. We figured version 4 will be such a big important update (multitasking for 3rd party apps etc) that our customers would rather have immediate access to that, hence the decision was made.

However, many of our NEW customers who didn’t know not to update their unlocked iPhones had already upgraded their iPhones unwittingly and locked themselves out. And new iPhones are already coming out at version 3.1.3. As a result we have had to find a new method. Just like at version 3.1.2 when we offered a reward for a baseband unlock (which wasn’t taken but the challenge was still met), we have risen to the occasion and present our latest and greatest ever .

It is a fact that most Apple iPhone users have always wished to be able to run multiple applications on the device; and if rumors are to be believed, you might soon get your wish fulfilled this summer. News is rife that Apple will include multitasking in its iPhone 4.0 update, which will allow several third party apps to run at the same time as well as in the background.

Although, it is not very clear as to how the iPhone update would deal with two of the biggest issues associated with multitasking - battery life and performance; it is for sure that Multitasking will be hailed by most iPhone users. However, there are also many who do not consider it as that important, as you do not actually need multitasking for looking up restaurants, movie times or news reports.

For your iPhone do you need actually the Multitasking?

There’s a big debate as to if you actually require Multitasking for your iPhone. Even though some have revoked the idea of multitasking, it is fact that the feature would be useful for running apps like Pandora in the background. The iPhone developers have also been recently developing apps that 'remember' what you were doing when you last closed the apps. It was almost like the app was running in the background ever since it restarted.

This guide is an update of previous guidance for the release of the iPhone with ZiPhone 2.5. Does not change much, in fact, however, since ZiPhone 3.0 is used, it is good to have a specific guide for the new version of the program of Zibri. This simple guide for Mac explains the steps required to unlock an iPhone with any firmware, which has bootloader 3.9 or 4.6 (ie all existing iPhone at the moment). This procedure is valid, as mentioned, for all the firmware: the oldest, to 1.1.4, including 1.1.2 and 1.1.3. The procedure requires updating to firmware version 1.1.4.

Step 1: Download and install ZiPhone

To proceed with the release you must download the Mac version of ZiPhone 3.0 (click on Download). Some browsers may cause problems in the download (a screen gossip codes instead of a file): To resolve, use Safari or FireFox. Once mounted the DMG file, copy the file to a folder ZiPhoneOSX pleasure.

Step 2: Restore to version 1.1.4 with iTunes
During the procedure you must insert your SIM, instead of the U.S. (AT & T). To do this, simply open the SIM Tray using a paper clip, as shown in the official Apple iPhone User Guide.
1. Connect iPhone to your Mac and open iTunes
2. Click on RESET *, and wait to be downloaded and installed the firmware 1.1.4 (alternatively, you can download the 1.1.4 firmware from this page to Alt + Restore on iTunes and choose to hand the file you just downloaded)
* It is advisable to Reset and updated so that all applications will be canceled in Installer, so as to avoid the occurrence of future problems.
This step obviously should not be done if you have an iPhone 1.1.4 native.

If and only if it appears the restore button on iTunes (this is the case with the iPhone never released before), proceed as follows:
1. Connect iPhone to your Mac and open iTunes
2. Manually force DFU (Restore mode) on your iPhone by holding down the Home and Sleep buttons until the iPhone off and then left the sleep button (continue to press the Home button) until the re-ignition (with black screen).
3. iTunes will detect the presence of an iPhone in recovery mode and you can restore to 1.1.4.

Step 3: Unlock, Activation and Jailbreak iPhone 1.1

1. Launch ZiPhone make sure iTunes is closed and that the iPhone is connected via USB to your Mac.
2. Click Unlock, Jailbreak & Activate.
3. Wait about 4 minutes - during which the iPhone will appear on the display a black screen with numbers and letters that flow, quiet is normal! - And then you'll have a fully unlocked iPhone 1.1.4. If during the proceedings are opened by saying that iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode, simply ignored the message without closing iTunes.

Step 4: Final Procedures.
